ForexBall: International Forex Contest With Decent Prize Pool

Trading contests have become an inseparable part of the Forex industry. More and more broking companies introduce their own contests for traders.  Another thing is whether these contests can be of any help to traders. Some scam brokers use contests to trap traders by talking them to switch from demo trading to live trading for real money, which usually leads to losses.

Therefore, in order to avoid falling prey to scammers, it is necessary to participate in trading tourneys introduced only by major Forex brokers with decent history and licenses from major financial authorities.

Admiral Markets is one of such reliable broking companies. It has been in the industry for over a decade and is licensed by the ASiC (Australia) and EFSA (Estonia). It is also regulated by a Russian financial authority.

The company’s monthly turnover is over $35bn. Therefore, the company does have the money to arrange trading contests with decent prices to award the industry’s best traders, thereby giving them an opportunity to take their trading and lives to a whole new level. Admiral Markets is a client-oriented company. The company is interested in long-term cooperation with successful traders, who can generate decent profits for themselves and the company.

That is why the company strives to develop and improve its business by introducing innovative products and services.

Not so long ago, Admiral Markets opened a new project. It is called ForexBall. This is an international Forex trading contests.

$5,500 Prize Pool for ForexRazor's "Excel Markets Forex Trading Contest March 2013"

To take part in the contest, you need to be registered at ForexRazor.com. You can register any time between March 18, 2013 and April 15, 2013 (which is when the contest will end). When you access the “Contests” section of the site, you will be able to open the Trading Contest page, read and accept the terms and conditions, and register. Then, when you open your Meta Trader 4 account, you will need to access the server titled “ExcelMarketsNZ-Demo”... and start trading. You will be given $10,000 fake money, which you can use to compete for the $5,500 prize pool. The trader with the biggest profit when the contest ends will be given a $3,000 prize. Second place will win $1,250, third will win $400, fourth will win $250 and five to ten will tin $100 each. The winnings will be paid within 30 days of the contest's end via PayPal, Moneybookers/Skrill or wire transfer. Prizes that are not collected after 30 days will be canceled.

Of course, just like any other Forex competition, this one has certain specifications you would need to pay attention to. First, leverage for all participating accounts will be 1:100, and margin calls will be set to 100% of the required margin. Once the margin call is triggered, your trades will be closed one by one. If you lose all your money, you will not be able to register again and start over (there is a strict one entry per household rule). Second, meeting or exceeding 50% drawdown will get you disqualified from the contest. Drawdown will be calculated based on “peak to valley” equity, and new account highs will have also affect drawdown tolerance.

The third thing you need to pay attention to is, as stated in the official contest rules, that “any participant intentionally hitting the demo price feed off market will be disqualified”. This means that if you try to take advantage of any latencies between your connection and the trade server, ForexRazor will find out and kick you out of the competition. Be warned!

Like any demo Forex trading competition, the Excel Markets Forex Trading Contest March 2013 sounds like a nice, safe opportunity to test your skills and pit yourself against you fellow traders, while making some money. We've already seen several such offers this year, like OANDA's Myfxbook Demo Contest and the FBS March $999 Demo Contest. Some brokers go even farther, offering immense prize pools, like the Admiral Markets $541,000 ForexBall prize pool. All in the spirit of friendly fun and competition, of course!

RoboForex Launches Forex Trading Contest Project ContestFX

RoboForex — Forex Trading for real robots

RoboForex Launches Forex Trading Contest Project ContestFX

Like any normal person, I'm a sucker for free stuff. Any time there is a wine tasting, cheese sampling, free mani-pedi discount coupons, I'm there. It's not necessarily that I need it, but... it's free! Therefore, you can probably imagine my excitement when I heard RoboForex is launching ContestFX – a new contest project, open to participants from all over the world.   Of course, this makes perfect sense. As we recently reported, New Zealand's financial regulator FSP has changed its rules and scratched 250 companies off its registry. Since RoboForex is one of the companies that have retained their FSP regulation, it would logically have to do its best to offer more and better services to its clients.    The ContestFX project is pretty straightforward. It offers a separate web page for each of the contests organized by RoboForex, with a detailed description of terms and conditions as well as info about contest events. There is a contest schedule, table of traders and all the latest contest news. Participation also does not require much – all you need is a live account which has the option to register for any of the contests (or all of them). You'll be asked to pick a nickname and enter your phone number in order to receive an SMS verification code... and that's it, you're ready to roll. The entire process takes no more than a few minutes.   As for the contests themselves, there are only two available at the moment - “Demo Forex” and “MegaLot”. “Demo Forex” has a duration of 1 month and a prize pool of $3,000, while “MegaLot” is a daily contest with a prize pool of $1,000 per day. For both contests, the rules to determine the winners are very simple and clear-cut: the participant who has accumulated the largest amount in their contest account by the end of the competition period takes first prize. In order to make sure that all competitors start on equal ground, RoboForex provides an initial virtual-money deposit into each contest account right before the start of the competition. The amount of this deposit is $20,000 for “Demo Forex” and $1,000 for “MegaLot”.   Two contests doesn't sound like much, does it? That's what I thought too, but RoboForex promises to add at least a few more to the ContestFX web page as soon as possible. If you are new to Forex and don't feel quite ready to test your trading skills, you can still make some dough by entering the broker's message board challenge and win cash prizes by participating in RoboForex's community. Whichever way you go, don't forget to have fun and make some profit along with that!
